George Steuart (Teas & Marketing) is part of the George Steuart Group. It was established in 1980 as George Steuart (Teas) Ltd. for the purpose of exporting tea. Subsequently in 1982, with the diversification into marketing of tea locally, the Company was renamed as George Steuart (Teas & Marketing) (Pvt) Ltd.
George Steuart & Company Ltd., the parent company, is the oldest mercantile establishment in Sri Lanka and is also the oldest member of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. The Company has been associated with tea for well over a century, in fact, from the very inception of the tea industry in Ceylon, as Sri Lanka was then known.

George Steuart (Teas & Marketing) (Pvt) Ltd. exports Black Tea, Green Tea, Herbal Tea and Flavoured Tea in Bulk, in Packets and as Tea Bags to the international market. Currently a large percentage of the Company’s tea is exported to CIS countries, United Arab Emirates, Iran, Syria, Philippines, Taiwan, Macedonia, West Africa and Japan. The Company, besides marketing tea under its own “Steuarts” brand, also undertakes packeting of tea for leading importers the world over. Additionally, the Company handles a wide range of value-added products totaling over one hundred different items such as tea bags, metal caddies and a whole range of specially-designed wooden boxes.

George Steuart (Teas & Marketing) (Pvt) Ltd. is a member of the Colombo Tea Traders Association and also of the Tea Exporters Association.
